As a pre-Christmas treat, a preview has now been released, even if it's compromised due to the platform's low-quality encoding—perhaps explaining the director's choice to restrict the preview exclusive to cinemas. A First Glimpse of the Stellar Ensemble This first look showcases Matt Damon in the role of the king of Ithaca. We also see Tom Holland playing the son and Anne Hathaway depicting the loyal wife. In a poignant moment, Penelope asks her husband to vow his safe homecoming, to which he respond by asking what happens if he cannot. The trailer also offers a quick, obscured look of the mythical one-eyed giant, from whom sheep are are taken by the hero and his men on their treacherous voyage. Based upon a foundational pillar in classic storytelling, The Odyssey chronicles the epic journey of the legendary King of Ithaca. After his triumph at Troy, which is depicted within the companion epic, the king faces a long and perilous road home. Mythical Encounters and a Star-Studded Lineup Along his path, the hero encounters countless challenges and legendary creatures. This roster features the witch-goddess Circe, who transforms men into swine, as well as the treacherous Sirens. Despite these trials, his sworn oath is to overcome anything to get back to Penelope and Telemachus on his home island. The adaptation's cast is remarkably star-studded.
